Augusta Senior Center

Posted on November 21, 2022December 19, 2022 by Karen McIlwain

The Augusta Senior Center was shut down for a while due to Covid, and they regained access to the building April 1st. That closure put a little strain on the seniors and the organization was almost dissolved. That’s when Brian Moody stepped up because he didn’t want to lose the seniors of the area. Brian became president of the Augusta Senior Citizen Organization about a year ago, and was officially voted in as president in May. He worked at regaining members, and is still focused on building the organization back up. There are currently 36 paid members and always welcoming more. Membership is only $10 per year and is open to anyone 50 years of age or older.

Lunch is served to the seniors at noon Monday through Friday at the Senior Center at 134 Main St. Everyone is welcome to come in to visit and work on puzzles and such while they are preparing lunch. Any other time people want to use the center, they can talk to Holly Herring at the Augusta Library @ (406) 562-3348, to obtain the key.

Brian is always looking for more ideas for events for the seniors. If you have any ideas or questions, please contact Brian Moody @ (406) 208-0110
